KEY RESPONSIBILITIESWork closely with the transfer station chemist to ensure all incoming loads are checked in a timely manner typically on the same day the arrive on site. Sampling and testing incoming waste to confirm it is as described by the customer.Ensure that any non-conformances accurately recorded, and where appropriate waste is quarantined as per the requirements of the site permit. Completing lab analysis on waste samples in the onsite laboratoryComplete the required paperwork to administer the incoming loads to the site and assist with printing and distributing relevant paperwork where required.Overseeing dispatch and disposal of hazardous wastes through approved third partiesWork closely with other members of the team to ensure site operations are safe and efficient at all times.Manage the workload of other site chemists to ensure tasks are completed in priority orderTraining other site chemists on best practise and handling of material completion of paperwork dispatch of material to treatment plantsManaging stock levels and ensuring they are within permit limitsTo carry out other tasks that the Company may reasonably expect to be done and that are within the capabilities of the job holder whether this is on their usual site or another within reasonable travelling distance that belongs to or is managed by the Business.To undertake additional tasks or duties from time to time as necessary to meet the needs of the business. £27K - £35K dependant on experience
Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm with an earlier finish on a Friday
Minimum of BSc in Chemistry
Minimum 2 years waste or related industry experience
Good communication skills
Ability to work on your own and in a team
A willingness to learn with a keen attention to detail and good administration skills.
